This awesome picture was taken in Bitteroot National Forest in Montana on August 6, 2000. The photographer, John McColgan, is a fire behavior analyst from Fairbanks, Alaska. He took the picture with a digital camera. Because he was working at the time he took the picture, he cannot profit from it. The picture is a once-in-a-lifetime shot and should be shared. Pass it around.

Solar Eclipse

This spectacular sunset was taken of the solar eclipse on April 8, 2005 from St. Croix, USVI. The eclipse started at 5:20 PM local time, behind a stationary cloud cover. We were resigned to not being able to view the actual eclipse when at approximately 6:17 PM, shortly before sunset, the sky suddenly brightened just below the clouds and we were treated to a solar eclipse sunset for the next 5 minutes.
